The project Сreative laboratory "Digital World" is being implemented by the Perm State University in cooperation with the Museum of Modern Art PERMM. It aims to overcome the boundaries between science and art, expand interaction between the scientific and creative communities, form interdisciplinary ties, and apply interdisciplinary approaches in the field of science and art. The project includes three interrelated components: a creative laboratory, an exhibition, and a panel discussion.
The first is the creative laboratory - a series of theoretical and practical classes, meetings and master classes dedicated to the interaction of digital technologies and contemporary art. The participants will be students and teachers of Perm universities. Classes will be conducted by specialists in the field of digital technologies and contemporary art (science art, media art).
The second part is an exhibition, which will feature installations, objects of science and media art on the theme of technological progress and its impact on our lives. Part of the exhibits will be created by students in the course of the work of the creative laboratory. Another part is the work of professional artists. The exhibition will be held within the framework of the international forum "Mathematics and Global Challenges of the 21st Century", dedicated to the centenary of mathematical science in Perm, as well as the international mass action "Museums Night" ("Museums Night at Perm State National Research University").
The third component is a round table - a public discussion "Science and Art", where scientists, artists, students and representatives of museums will discuss the role of high technologies in modern forms of art and the phenomenon of scientific creativity.
The project is being carried out in the jubilee year for the university and is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of academic science in the Urals.
The project is carried out with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Youth Policy and Mass Communications of the Perm Territory.
The curators of the project are Dinara Gagarina and Anastasia Shipitsina.
